UNS Professor Receives Appreciation from Tanoto Foundation Scholarship Alumni

UNS – Professor at the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Dr.agr. Ir. Muhammad Cahyadi, S.Pt., M.Biotech., IPM, was honored as an alumnus of the Tanoto Foundation Scholarship. The award was presented at the Thamrin Nine Ballroom, Jakarta, on Friday (1/12/2023) during the Tanoto Foundation’s Graduation and Alumni Gathering (GAG) 2023.

Prof. Muhammad Cahyadi stated that more than 8,167 students have been recipients of the Tanoto Foundation Scholarship since 2006. In the GAG 2023 event, several alumni of the Tanoto Foundation Scholarship received appreciation for their contributions in various fields, including education, social, political, cultural, health, and technology. They were recognized for influencing or inspiring the youth of Indonesia.

On this occasion, Prof. Muhammad Cahyadi received the Tanoto Foundation Scholarship Alumni Award in the Innovation category. He was a member of the first batch of Tanoto Scholars in 2006.

 “My intention in coming to Jakarta is to reminisce with fellow alumni and build networks with fellow Tanoto Scholars in Indonesia. I was surprised when the MC called me to the stage as one of the alumni appreciation recipients,” Prof. Cahyadi said on Tuesday (5/12/2023).

Up to now, Prof. Cahyadi has been actively involved in research and has achieved several innovative works, one of which is a granted patent on the use of mitochondrial genome markers for the halal status of meat and its processed products.

Inge Kusuma, Tanoto Foundation Indonesia Country Head, emphasized the importance of graduates continuing to have an impact on society (Pay it forward).
