In September 2023, Nature Reviews Gastroenterology & Hepatology attended the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) Steatotic Liver Disease (SLD) Summit 2023 in Prague, Czech Republic. The meeting, which in previous years had been known as the EASL NAFLD Summit, had approximately 500 participants (in person and virtual) from over 55 countries, according to the organizers.
