In a plenary lecture at the XXVI World Congress of Neurology (WCN; Montreal, Canada, 15–19 October 2023), Anthony Lang presented a new biological classification model for Parkinson disease (PD). The model, known as SynNeurGe (pronounced ‘synergy’) is designed to capture the heterogeneity of PD and to aid research into the underlying biology of the disease.
