UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta and Pertamina Foundation officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the National Seminar themed “Strengthening the Guarantee of Rights to a Good and Healthy Environment in Achieving the 7th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) for Realizing Sustainable Energy.” The event was organized by the Law of Public Policy and Energy Study Center under UNS’s Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM) in collaboration with the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia (MK RI).
This MoU signifies a shared commitment between UNS and the Pertamina Foundation to enhance academic and practical synergies. The partnership aims to support sustainable development, focusing particularly on environmental preservation and sustainable energy initiatives.
The event was attended by UNS Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni, Prof. Ir. Dody Ariawan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., who expressed optimism about the collaboration. “The MoU between UNS and Pertamina Foundation is expected to serve as a cornerstone for productive partnerships in various programs, from research to community empowerment. This will contribute to environmental conservation efforts and the transition to sustainable energy,” Prof. Dody said.
The seminar featured a keynote speech by Constitutional Court Justice Prof. Dr. Guntur Hamzah, S.H., M.H., who emphasized the strategic importance of ensuring the right to a good and healthy environment as a fundamental pillar in achieving the SDGs.
Held at the Faculty of Law (FH) UNS, the seminar provided an academic platform for discussions among legal experts, energy practitioners, and academics. Together, they formulated concrete steps to realize the SDG targets, particularly Goal 7, which focuses on clean and affordable energy.
