Inner Retinal Layers Swelling During Subretinal Voretigene Neparvovec Delivery
Images acquired during the procedure are shown in Figure A-C. In particular, the 39-gauge needle for subretinal delivery (1.5 × 1011 vg/0.3 ml) is shown in Figure A, with a surrounding whitish halo indicated by green arrows, that corresponds to an increased reflectivity of the inner retinal layer (IRL) in the OCT scan (Fig C). Figure B shows the induced retinal detachment. One month after surgery, the OCT showed retinal thinning in the site of injection (red arrow) but no apparent IRL damage around it (Fig D), indicating only a transient alteration during the procedure (Magnified version of Fig A-D is available online at
