Abstract #1600146: Subacute Thyroiditis is an Uncommon Cause of Fever of Unknown Origin

We presented an interesting endocrine cause of fever of unknown origin. Subacute thyroiditis is a form of self-limited inflammatory thyroid disorder. Characteristic features like painful goiter, raised erythrocyte sedimentation rate, low radioactive iodine uptake, and evidence of giant cell thyroiditis on thyroid fine-needle aspiration can help an early diagnostic and appropriate management.
