Working remotely: a perspective on telemedicine in delivery of obstetrics and gynaecology health care

‘Telemedicine’ is a broad term referring to the use of communication and information technology to provide remote clinical services to patients.1–3 Telemedicine encompasses a technology-enhanced healthcare framework, including services such as virtual visits, artificial intelligence, behavioural economics and mobile health care (m-Health). However, despite the ever-growing presence of telemedicine within health care, a definition incorporating all of its aspects remains incongruous, both in literature and between healthcare systems.
