Cancer breast and gynecological cancers are a huge burden for India and globally and their incidence is rising. We have to slow down this increase of cancer by prevention by judicial use of vaccines, changes in life style, early diagnosis by new biomarkers and early identification of rare cancers and combination of multiple cancers. Keeping in mind all these challenges, we have added related articles, original cases, short communication, and rare case presentations.

Ovarian cancer is one of the enigmatic cancers which is associated with high morbidity and mortality as it has nonspecific symptoms and no effective screening methods are available. Original article “Osteopontin as a tumor marker in Ovarian Cancer”. May fill the gap for research in the diagnostics of ovarian cancer. It would fill the gap for research in the diagnostics of ovarian cancer as presently used CA125 has its limitations.

PARP expression in breast cancer survivors is an upcoming research topic which should be definitely followed by those interested in breast cancer early diagnosis and management to reduce mortality, original study “Expression of PARP (poly ADP ribose polymerase) Protein in Breast Cancer.” JMH_132_22 gives a way forward research topic for our own Indian researchers.

Immunohistochemical markers have been highlighted for diagnosis and prognosis in Leiomyosarcoma in article “Leiomyosarcoma of the uterus and diagnostic challenges in diagnosing it on small biopsy”

Triple cancers are really a rare occurrence and enjoy reading about this case report and many more.

Let us all strive towards WHO goal of cervical cancer prevention by 2030 by vaccinating 90% girls by the age of 15 years, which now appears feasible as India has launched its quadrivalent vaccine by Serum Institute of India and that would be very cost effective and hopefully cervical cancer vaccination would be included in universal immunization program.

We all have to join hands for cervical cancer screening to achieve goal of screening 70% of women and appropriate treatment of 90% of those identified with cervical disease.

Please, enjoy reading all these articles.
