The research paper titled “Curcumin recovers the toxic effects of nicotine on hippocampus cornu ammonis 1 in rats” published in Journal of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapeutics, on pages 85-92, Issue 3, Volume 10, 2019,[1] is being retracted because it was brought to the attention of JPP's editorial board, following multiple complaints by the readership of the journal that there is a substantial overlap of content with another article 'Ameliorative effect of Falcaria vulgaris on nicotine-induced injury on the hippocampus dentate gyrus region of rats' published in International Journal of Pharmaceutical Investigation on pages 200-204, Issue 4, Volume 9, 2019.[2]

Plagiarism, fabrication, unethical or redundant publication violates the editorial policy of Journal of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapeutics, which follows best practice guidelines given by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) mentioned on the Information for Authors and as codified in the signed statements made by the authors regarding the copyright of their work.

This article has been retracted on request of the Editor-in-Chief and editorial board of the journal.
